BTW, I had always thought this name to be British but someone suggested that it is Irish. Do we know for sure which it is?? I have found my line back to Wm Clayton BRIDGES, Sr. (b 1807 Springfield,TN-d ?????). He m/ Amanda MANTLE (b 1807-d ????). This is absolutely a-l-l that I have for these two people. **Some** of what I have on my lineage from there to present follows. Does anyone out have anything that could tie us together?
