Hello all, I received the DNA test result for our family, but I don't know how to read it... Does it connect with any of the other group of Bridges? Hugs, Gay http://www.familytreedna.com/ftLogin.asp?kit=13456&code=J8833 Gay Botsford gbot@seark.net
Gay, For any of this to make sense, you'll probably have to write the group marker numbers out on strips of grid-paper and shuffle them around until you see the patterns. I used high lighters to mark the matching markers. You can also do this in Excel, if you have the program. Just mark out 25 columns and copy the group numbers into a line. The individuals have there own lines. Our test did not match 100% with any of the other Bridges lines. Our closest match was with group 1. We shared 15 of 25 Y chromosome markers with group1. That means we had 10 mutations, 6 of which occurred in markers with faster mutation rates. We shared 9 markers with group 2, 4 markers with group 3, and 8 markers with group 4. At the most, we shared 5 markers with those not yet designated as a group. I believe we will be listed with them until we get a match.
