Robert A. Bridges was born in 1837. SECOND GENERATION 2. Lewis W. Bridges was born in 1824 in Jefferson Co., AL. He was married to Nancy (Unknown). Nancy (Unknown) was born in 1827 in Arkansas. The Union Army burned their home, so the Bridges family rode a mule to Bay Village to live near relatives. After the war Bob married Mary Bridges." Mary S. Bridges forfeited to the State of Arkansas, according to Book A, page 360, 80 acres described as SW SE Section 11 (31?), township 10 page 1 Poinsett County Deed Records. He was married to Melvina Palestine Phillips (daughter of John Perry Phillips and Caroline Malienda Dover) on 19 Mar 1883 in Harrisburg, Poinsett Co., AR. Melvina Palestine Phillips was born on 30 Sep 1867 in Alabama.
