BRIDGES, a young man at the time, made a settlement in this township, in 1822. He was a native of North Carolina, born Mach 21, 1802. Shortly after coming here, he was married to Dorlesky Eldred, who was born in Connecticut, Aug. 25, 1802. They have long since passed to "that land, from whose bourne no traveler ever returns." They were the parents of the following children - Julia E., Anthony S., Sylvester H., Jehosophat E., Frank M., Ornan W., Drusilla J., Thaddeus H., Ruth E., and Cassius E.
