    1. Update- Y-DNA Project
    2. Hello all, We have updated the BRIDGER / BRIDGES / BRIDGERS / BRIGGS / BRIDGE, etc. DNA Project Results page to reflect the latest markers that have come in from the lab. We are still awaiting several and they will be posted as soon as they arrive. I am happy to announce that, I believe, that we have found a male descendant of Col. Joseph Bridger of Isle of Wight Co., VA and his DNA has been entered into our DNA Project. His line was still living in Isle of Wight, VA in the 1850 Census, so it was fairly easy to check out the line from there. I am still working with the participant to be sure that each generation is documented, but I feel, pretty certain, that he is a genuine descendant. It will be several weeks before his results come in. If you think that you are descended from that line and haven't joined our DNA Project, now it the time to submit your male line DNA to prove that connection. As you may know it takes from 5 to 10 weeks (or longer) to get the results from the DNA sample, so we encourage anyone who is considering the testing to do it ASAP. The waiting is the hard part. This project has been, informative, rewarding and fun. I believe that, eventually, you will all have a DNA match that will greatly advance your Genealogy research. If you know of lines that you suspect may be related to yours, try to find a researcher from that line to submit a DNA sample from a male who carries the Bridges, etc., name. With every new participant, there is a chance for a match. We would love to have the DNA of all the major Bridges, etc., lines represented in our DNA Project. That would make the Project more appealing to future participants. If you know of lines in Europe, please, encourage them to join us, as we, here in America, are ready to link to the Old Country. 3. Julia How can I reach Bridges DNA site? Next week I am going to Paris Tx to ask cousin to take 25 count DNA test. This will give Bridges line from NC Ga Ala and into Texas a major boost. gerald preas dallas tx --- JULIAFWOOD@aol.com wrote: > Hello all, > We have updated the BRIDGER / BRIDGES / BRIDGERS / > BRIGGS / BRIDGE, etc. DNA > Project Results page to reflect the latest markers > that have come in from the > lab.
