    3. Dawnene, I am a little confused at this point. Is this the same John that was my GGGGgrandfather (b 1782 NC & d bef 5 Feb 1816)? I ask because I don't know much about him.     3. I don't think so, Leslie. There seem to be at least 3 different John Bridges in the area. I have finally differentiated them by the land they paid taxes on. Mine and yours lived close by each other, but mine did not receive land in your John's land divisions. My John(s) remained on Deer Creek in Livingston County; another John's lands were closeby on Caney Fork of the Tradewater River, and on Crooked Creek (I think that one is yours.) Then, there is a Robt Bridges who recieved 200 acres of land on Sandy Creek in June of 1799, while in Sept of 1799, a William Bridges , assignee of James Bridges of S.C., received 400 acres of land on Livingston Creek. All these Bridges lived relatively close by each other in Livingston County.
