    3. The message below was sent to the Logan County, KY list today. It references neighboring, Robertson County, TN. These two counties are where my BRIDGE / BRIDGER / BRIDGERS / BRIDGES / BRIGGS family went after leaving NC. His father was Andrew Washington, and his mother was Margaret Bridger Washington. Joseph George Washington was born in Southampton County, Virginia, between 1804 and 1807, and by 1820 was living in the northern part of Robertson County, TN, only a mile or so from the Kentucky state line and Logan County, KY. Joseph George Washington traveled with Peter James Bailey III, Daniel Cloud, James Fauntleroy (or Fontleroy), and Joseph Bayliss to Nacogdoches Texas in 1836, where he joined the Voluntary Auxilliary Corps, which was a civilian militia, and from there they traveled to San Antonio de Bexar and died in the Battle of the Alamo, March 6th, 1836. Joseph's brother, Richard A.E. Washington, inherited the land, or 1/2 of the land, that their father bequeated in his will. Andrew Washington died in February 1835, and was buried in Robertson County, TN. With no immediate inheritance from his father's will, Joseph left Tennessee seeking his fortune and exploring land, perhaps as far as Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana, and finally arriving in Texas. I have found that Richard A.E. Washington shot and killed a man and was found guilty. In 1850, Richard A.E. Washington gave a power of attorney to Washington Ryburn. And in 1852 the Ryburns filed an exparte petition in Chacery Couirt requesting permission to sell the land which Sally had inherited, so that they could "move to Western Kentucky". Sally, I believe was Richard A.E. Washington's daughter. Washington & Sally Ryburn's children were listed as minors in this court case by the following names: Dewitt Clinton Ryburn, Martha W. Ryburn, Joseph A. Ryburn, Willie Ryburn, Washington Ryburn. I am seeking any information on the geneology, history, or documentation of the Ryburn descendants, of the descendants of Richard A.E. Washinton, and of the descendants of Amanda Washington, the sister of Joseph George Washington and Richard A.E. Washington.
