    3. Looking for any information on James Bridges, Excise Man, who was living in Caithness, Scotland in 1838 when son Frederick migrated to Australia. He was married to Mary Gow. Have no further information on either James or Mary - cannot find him in Excise Records at the PRO (by researcher) or Scottish Excise Records. Does not appear in Caithness census of 1841 or Perthshire 1841 census. Son Fred married in Tenterden, Kent, cannot find him in Kent 1841 census. Son's ships record says father was living in 1838, I suppose could have died before 1841, but does not appear in the OPR's for Scotland and because I have no idea of his whereabouts any James Bridges on the Civil Reg. of England and Wales would be a pure guess. Can anyone assist? Thank you. Glenys -- Glenys Rasmussen http://www.quietAcre.com "My home lies wide a thousand miles, In the Never-Never Land." (Henry Lawson)
