    1. DNA Results are in for Isle of Wight line
    2. Hello all, Well, the results are in for the result for which we were waiting and the plot thickens. This result is for a descendant of William Bridger who moved from Isle of Wight, VA in the early 1700s and died in Bertie Co., NC in 1730. There is no doubt that he was from Isle of Wight, because that fact is stated in the deed book on his early land transactions. The problem is that his DNA matches the Aqua group and not the Green group who claims to be descended from the Bridger family of Isle of Wight. In looking closely at the research that was given to me, I find that the family of the William Bridger in the Green group was in Chesterfield, VA, not Isle of Wight, and my requests for proof of each generation that could lead to Isle of Wight have not been answered. I see many discrepancies in the family tree that was provided to me. Therefore, since I don't have a crystal ball, there is no way that I can know which of these two if either of them are descended from Col. Joseph Bridger of Isle of Wight. It is, also, possible that they both could be according to paper research, but that an adoption occurred somewhere in the lines. This could true of all Bridger researchers and all the groups in our DNA project. I have changed the earliest ancestor of the Green group to the William of Chesterfield, VA as I feel somewhat confident that the research is correct to that point and have listed the new result in the Aqua group as the earliest ancestor, William Bridgers, who went to NC. Both of these are subject to change as more generations are proven to me with documentation. If anyone has documents for these line or can offer any suggestions or help, please, let me know.
