I'm not as >familiar with Dallas. There is a small genealogy section in the library in Quitman. I found useful stuff there on my line when I visited a few years ago. The Wood County courthouse in Quitman burned down in the late 1800's or early 1900's, if I remember right, so there may be less help there.
