Graham mentioned Burkburnett, TX ======= With TX being such a big state, I find it interesting how often the name of this town shows up in genealogical circles. My Ggrandfather lived in Carroll County, MO, where he had his first lumber yard. And yet, during his business' expansion he began another yard in Burkburnett. That is how my grandmother's brother (and now that whole part of the family) ended up in far-away Texas. Leslie (Bridges) Kohler Carrollton, MO & Glendale, AZ
The reason for Burkburnett so popular was a large oil strike there. Lumber was used for oil derricks before steel and portable drilling. glp --- Leslie Kohler <Aug67@att.net> wrote: > Graham mentioned Burkburnett, TX > ======= > With TX being such a big state, I find it > interesting how often the name > of this town shows up in genealogical circles.
