I have a Clary Ann Bridges that married a "Stroudy Bob" Robert Garrett in Fannin Co. GA.(Stroud was his mother's maiden name) Robert Garrett's parents were born in Burke Co. NC... Married.... moved to Missouri....moved back to Georgia to be near siblings and cousins. Others left from that area to go west also. Try looking in Rutherford and Burke Co. NC , it is possible that they came through on there way to Illinois. It seems to be part of an old migration route to the West and South.
