Happy Sunday morning, Bridges researchers. I have recently begun to watch the BRIGGS list as a 'just in case'. Although I have traced Daddy's family to NC in the late 1700's, his surname was spelled incorrectly as BRIGGES in 1921! He did not even know about this error until he enlisted in the Army Air Corps during WWII. We have previously discussed the often-occurring misspelling of the surname, but I find it interesting that it happened as late as 1921 to educated people.
