You were only trying to help resolve the problem. *But*, if we ever run into a problem like this again, just please do not resend the 'icky' post back to the list. For reference, when the message came through, I emailed Julia, our list administrator, and asked her to please take care of the troublemaker. I hope this helps. Leslie (Bridges) Kohler

    1. [BRIDGES-L] DNA results due in soon
    2. This is a reminder to those of you awaiting the results of the Nathaniel Bridges descendant. Bob paid for the testing, so if you owe him a contribution, you should get it to him. The test results will be in soon and I will post the email addresses of all contributors to the company website so that you will be notified as soon as the results are in and will receive the password to go to the webpage that is provided for Nathaniel's DNA to see if there are matches in our group and to view his European and ancient origins. I am so excited about this, I can hardly wait. Julia

    1. [BRIDGES-L] Our List Administrator
    2. Hello I think I am back. <g> Thank you, Leslie, for stepping in and keeping me up to date on the happenings on the list while I was disabled. I received from another list Adm. who is, also, using AOL as her server that, yesterday, someone reported all America Online mail as SPAM and Rootsweb blocked all AOL users from their servers. They have released us, now, but if you use AOL you may want to go to Rootsweb.com and check the "Threaded Messages" for all the lists that you belong to, to see what mail you missed yesterday. Thanks again Cousin Leslie and I am thrilled for you that you found your Thomas Bridges on the 1880 census. That census transposition is wonderful. For years there were some of my ancestors that I assumed were dead before 1880 and I have been able to find them in that 1880 census that was transcribed by the LDS. For all of you who do not know, the LDS transcribed the 1880 census and not only the head of household, but every person that was listed in the census is in the index. It is possible to use any search from first name, last name, initials, place of birth, place of residence, birth year, etc. It is free at: familysearch.com Julia French Wood

    3. Hello All, Julia French Wood, our list administrator, is having to work very much behind the scene right now as she is unable to receive the list messages at this time. Please know, however, that I forwarded to her one of those horrid messages that came through the list last night. She has now removed the troublesome person from the list and has blocked the further access of that email address. Please feel free to contact Julia, off list, if you need her help. I will be staying in touch with her (and helping in any way I can) until her situation with the list's messages is resolved. Leslie (Bridges) Kohler

    1. [BRIDGES-L] New DNA Results Posted
    2. Hello, I have posted the latest results except that I am, still, waiting for the Ancestor Chart on one line. I have had to make an adjustment, as when the 12 marker results of two tests were expanded to 25 markers, we find that both descendants of George Benjamin Bridges, do match each other, but Colman Lowery Bridges does NOT match that line. With 12 markers, the Colman line had only one mutation, but when the next 13 were received, he has 6 mutations from the George Benjamin line and not considered close enough to be related within the last 1000 years or so. This shows the importance of using the 25 marker test in some cases. Thomas > Herod Bridges has been added, but doesn't match any of the lines to date. This was a surprise to me, as I expected him to match my Hardy Bridges of GA. You may see the results at: http://www.small-stuff.com/BRIDGES/results.htm Julia PS. We are awaiting the results of Nathaniel Bridges and Joseph Bridger which should be in soon. PPS I am using AOL.9, and can't post the URL without it being a hot link, so I may not go through Rootweb properly. Julia

    1. [BRIDGES-L] Newly Found Info.
    2. ~~ Leslie ~~
    3. Hello All, I've known all my life that my Ggrandfather BRIDGES (1866-1949) was born and died in Robertson County, TN. Today, on a lark, I decided to find out what the 1880 census had to say about him. It took me a while to find him because he was not even in TN at that time. But, thanks to www.FamilySearch.org, I did find his 1880 information. I knew that both of his parents were already deceased, but I had just not thought about where he was living. Well, he was in Logan County, KY with his mother's brother, his maternal grandmother and several other people. So, just for reference, here are the people who were living there together. (I have marked my Ggrandfather and my GGGgrandmother with asterisks.) T. E. FORT - Head of Household - age 35 - born MO (white) - widower Frank FORT - Son - age 8 - born KY (white) Earl FORT - Son - age 6 - born KY (white) Mable FORT - Daughter - age 4 - born KY (white) *M. M. FORT - Mother & Housekeeper - age 63 - born TN (white) - widow *Thos. BRIDGES - Nephew - age 14 - born TN (white) Bettie LINK - Cook - age 24 - born KY (black) Ella LINK - age 3 - born KY (black) Courtney LINK - age 7 - born KY (black) Richard FORT - servant - age 18 - born KY (Black) My Ggrandfather's name was actually John Thomas BRIDGES, and my GGGgrandmother was Martha Marie (FORT) FORT. Yes, she married a cousin! That's probably why I am slightly nuts. <LOL> Leslie (Bridges) Kohler - Aug67@att.net P.O. Box 276, Carrollton, MO 64633-0276 and P.O.
