I have never been able to connect my William with any other Bridges. Sure wish I could
I have a William or Willis Bennett Bridges that married Nancy Catherine Wilson in Wilson Co, TN and lived out his life in DeKalb Co, TN. Wilson co and DeKlab Co are just next door to one another.
I am looking for information on Richard Bridges who was on the 1830 Armstrong Co. PA census. The age was between 20-30. He had 2 sons under the age of five. Thanks, Susie
I am going to post my William B. Bridges again since it has been some time since I did it last. My William B. (Brewer) Bridges was born ca 1810 in NC moved to Wilson Co Tn and was married on his 18th birthday to Rebecca W. Sherrill (dau of Uriah & Polly G. Sullivan Sherrill) supposedly in Wilson Co Tn but have never found the marriage record. William and Rebecca were in Henderson Co Tn in 1835 when Uriah Sherrill's will was probated. I found them on the 1850 Ripley Co Mo census, they moved on to Randolph Co Arkansas and he died in 1868 in Greene Co Ark. According to the Goodspeed History of Randolph Co Ark. William B. was the eldest of 15 children, but I only know of three. William B. , Elizabeth C. and Mary S. His parents were listed as Benjamin b 1790 of NC and Winnfried Brewer Bridges. The Brewers are documented very well but I can not get back to proof Benjamin as father. I could assume that this is correct as the mother's maiden name was Brewer as was William's middle name. But you know what assuming does. William and Rebecca had the following children: Alva B. M. Bridges b Apr 1835 in Tn (my ggr-grandfather) Mary A. "Polly" Bridges abt 1832 Emarintha R. Bridges abt 1840 Susan F. Bridges Oct 1849 I have no male descendants to do the dna test, My William Bridges only had daughters that survived. I know of no male descendants from A M . Thanks, Wilma
Julie He is in Bloomington, IL. He moved there in August. He's the same DNA cousin that lived in Ohio when the DNA project started. Seems like there is a Dean Bridges that is a cousin to my mother. thanks, julie:) ----- Original Message ----- From: "graham bridges" <putter@gvtc.com> To: <BRIDGES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 04, 2003 10:54 PM Subject: Re: [BRIDGES-L] Re: BRIDGES-D Digest V03 #118 > Wanda > > Welcome to the bunch. Wanda Welcome to the bunch. I have already met two of our DNA cousins. Doug & Doris Bridges of Homestead, FL and Jeannie Bridges Lewis. I met her in Tx while she was traveling on her job. She actually lives in CA. I also talked with her father on the phone - Willie Hugh Bridges. I have talked to Anne Bennett by e-mail several times and have talked with Roger Dean Bridges in IL. Phil Bridges has been a little more reluctant to warm up. I have spoken to him twice by e-mail and hope that we will be able to exchange information. I will gladly exchange info with you too. My line is the James M. Bridges born either in SC or Georgia. One of his sons Julius Caesar Alford Bridges was my gGrandfather. There were about 12 children in the family but not much is known of most of them. I have been unable to determine the parentage of my James. There is a gap in the tree after his birth. Most of the activity known about James occurred in Henry County and Carroll County, GA. Looking forward to hearing from you. Hello list, It is nice to know I have so many new cousins. I found some of my "closer" cousins show that my William Crawford Bridges was born in Atlanta, Ga in 1815 instead of Wilkes Co. Ga. (this is what I have.) Perhaps one of you could check Atlanta and see if you can find anything that bears the slightest reference to Allen Jones Bridges around 1800. I certainly would appreciate it. I do know they left Ga in 1819 and went to Wilson Co. Tenn. Also according to Allen Jones Bridges Rev. War Pension records, he was living in Roan Co. NC and went into the service with his father at that time. Do we know if James (the spy) also enlisted in Roan Co ? Any ideas? Wanda
The results for Allen Jones Bridges and Nathaniel Bridges are in and posted. I don't have the ancestor chart for Nathaniel, and will post it as soon as someone sends it to me. http://small-stuff.com/BRIDGES/results.htm Julia French Wood
Hello, Would anyone have any information on these families especially those from Dublin around the 1850s? Thanks Robert
Thanks Leslie. Unfortunately, I have no Bridges relatives in Tennessee (except siblings). My parents (Bridges and Wear) moved here in the late 1950's and were originally from the Birmingham and Piedmont Alabama areas. Cousins still live in those areas. Wish I could say I did know you cousin. Julia Hang in there and have a good time. I am 63, since July, and am having a wonderful time. I have 5 children also. But, I've got a little edge on you with 13 grandchildren and one on the way. I have read ALL my mail and I do see where there has been a problem with everybody getting mail as of late and I saw NOTHING in response to show that the matter was taken care of or any type of discussion about taking care of the person. Maybe the list is still not sending all the mail to everyone for some reason. ----- Original Message ----- From: <JULIAFWOOD@aol.com> To: <BRIDGES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 30, 2003 12:19 PM Subject: Re: [BRIDGES-L] New DNA Results Posted > In a message dated 10/30/2003 6:07:47 AM Pacific Standard Time, > wesgann@juno.com writes: > < > Sorry but I only get my mail about once a week. > Should I just not post anything because of that? > > > > Perhaps you should read all your mail before you respond.
