I will get them posted ASAP. I really hated to tell you, too, that you do not match any of the other Bridges lines. But this project will keep going and getting more and more participants. Someday everyone will have matches. Julia

And, with you being her care giver, it is that much more so. Make yourself eat. I honestly know how hard this is to do right now. (And, the physical pain, caused by the mental pain, makes it even more difficult.) So, please do be extra cautious to force yourself to eat. Everyone subscribed here cares about you, Lady. But, I get the privilege of feeling an "extra" caring now that I know that we are indeed cousins! Leslie

Gay, For any of this to make sense, you'll probably have to write the group marker numbers out on strips of grid-paper and shuffle them around until you see the patterns. I used high lighters to mark the matching markers. You can also do this in Excel, if you have the program. Just mark out 25 columns and copy the group numbers into a line. The individuals have there own lines. Our test did not match 100% with any of the other Bridges lines. Our closest match was with group 1. We shared 15 of 25 Y chromosome markers with group1. That means we had 10 mutations, 6 of which occurred in markers with faster mutation rates. We shared 9 markers with group 2, 4 markers with group 3, and 8 markers with group 4. At the most, we shared 5 markers with those not yet designated as a group. I believe we will be listed with them until we get a match. This came in through Genforum Nov 30 from Barbara Walls wallsbarbie@aol.com. If someone can help her you might want to contact her direct. I only know that Julie Baxter made reference to a "Buck" Bridges. Searching for Bill Bridges Family i am searching for the family of bill (buck) bridges. he was the son of Jim and Lena bridges and the grandson of Charles and Nora madden bridges. bill lived around the healdton carter county Okla. area. any info will be appreciated
Thanks for the info. David. The Copeland family, past and present, have a long and vital history in Green County, GA. In the early 1800's Nancy Copeland married Hardy Bridges. These are not my line of Bridges but were contemporaries of my ggggrandfather in Green Co. I don't quickly recognize the names in the web sheet but I plan to take a closer look. My Bridges ancestors settled around San Marcos, Marble Falls and another group were near Dallas. They went from GA. to Texas in the late 1840's. Sorry, I can't give you much help. My ancestors do include an Elizabeth A. Bridges, daughter of Herod Bridges and Margaret Ware Bridges. She was born in Putnam Co. GA., in 1815. That's all I know about her. Julia
James Bridges, son of Catherine Evans and Dillon Bridges, was born June 24, 1789 in Virginia; moved with his parents to Fleming County, KY in 1799 or 1800, and died Oct. 8, 1878 in Charlestown, Clark Co., IN and his remains are in the Charlestown Cemetery with his son Dillon, Dillon's wife Mary, and a granddaughter Matilda. He married 21 Mar 1810 in Fleming Co., KY to Nancy Fitch. She died 1 May, 1861 in Jefferson County, IN, and she was buried in the Marling Church cemetery. She was born Jan. 25, 1790 in Fleming Co. James served in the War of 1812 as a private and then a drummer. After leaving KY sometime between 1815-1819, he bought and sold land in several places in Indiana: Wayne County, Rush County, Jefferson County, and finally he ends up living in the household of son Dillon in Clark County. I was able to travel around Indiana to retrace his steps this past fall and was impressed by the open spaces and beauty that still remain in southern Indiana. Ethel Hoke of Colorado gave me most of the information about James and Mary's children, some of it vertified by records kept by my husband's family. She mostly followed Dillon's line down, as this was her family. We have a little bit about the other siblings, and I have A LOT about James/Mary's son Joseph, as this is my husband's line. This is the basic info about the children of James and Nancy. 1. Dillon, a lawyer, b. 7 Jun 1812 VA, m. 27 Jan 1834 Mary (Gilbert) Ranck, d. 29 Sep 1886. Served in Civil War. Three of his sons went to Mason County, TX, and rode the Chisolm Trail driving cattle north to market. They later got into farming and other occupations. (1) Salathiel Fitch BRIDGES, b. 11 Sep 1836,IN d. 10 Jun 1909 in Mason County, TX. m. Mary A. or Marie unknown. Mary was born in England, both parents born in England, and immigrated to USA in 1837. Her tombstone in Gooch Cemetery says she was b. 11 Sep 1835 and d. 10 July 1907. Married in 1865. Salathiel, wife, and first child moved to Texas shortly after the Civil War. On the 1870 census he was a carpenter, and on the 1880 census he was keeping a hotel, called the Mason House. Salathiel was called "Lace." (2) Martin Vanburen BRIDGES , b. 16 Aug 1840 in Wayne Co., IN, d. 20 May 1903, m. Belle NAUDAIN on 24 Feb 1864 at Charlestown, Clark Co., IN. About Nov. 4, 1868, they left Clark Co. and went to Mason Co., TX. In 1897 they moved north to Chickasha, Indian Territory, OK. His wife, Susan R. LEA, an educated woman, began the first school in Mason County in her home. An aunt of her children kept house for the two families, freeing up Susan to teach school for both families and other children in the area. 2. a son b. 1814 in VA 3.
