VA; first child b. ca. 1764 as Gdau nancy (our line) b. 1784 NC. Alex went from Spotsylvania Co. to the Caswell area of Orange Co. NC, then on to Tryon/Rutherford Co. Bridges Searchers: I'm seeking to contact other researchers of relatives of Jonathan Benjamin BRIDGES. John was born 22 Dec 1745 and married Hannah GARLAND 3 Jul 1770, in York. They went to the "West" about 1790 and settled in Hamilton Co OH, near Cincinnati. Their children were Hanna, John Jr, Ann, Elisha, and Benjamin. John Sr was reputed to have fought in the Revolutionary War, but I haven't confirmed it. I have much information on John, Hannah and their descendants that I'd be delighted to share. Hello, everyone. I am new to this list and I am so glad that I was told about it! I have a William Bridges and it seems like there were a lot of William Bridges around. My William was born 28 April 1787 in South Carolina. The only parent I have a name for is his mother; Nancy. The book "History of Sangamon County, Illinois" says this about my William: "William Bridges was born April 28, 1787 in South Carolina. Subsequently he was taken by his parents to Tennessee and from thence to Green County, Ohio where he was married to Martha Martin, near Xenia. After marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Bridges resided in the city of Xenia until they had two children. Mr. Bridges served one year in the war with Great Britain, from the summer of 1812 to 1813. He then moved to Fayette County, Indiana, where they had one child, and next removed to Sangamon County, Illinois, arriving about 1824 in Buffalo Hart Grove. Mr. Bridges is the gunsmith and blacksmith of whom mention is made in this chapter. He moved to other parts about 1830 and died. " (Chapter XXX, page 802) This is all I know about William, besides the fact that he and Martha had three daughters: Margaret (married James Hill), Elizabeth (married John C. Morgan) and Sarah (married Jonathan C. Constant). Elizabeth and John had my g-g-g-grandmother in Sangamon County on 19 February 1839. Request INFO on any other Cherokee BRIDGES or BRIDGE families: My only Bridges line is Cherokee from Georgia/Tennesee. Martha Elizabeth Bridges B. 1864 (of Flinstone, GA (near Lookout Mountain Town)) m. Joe PIckett (of Marion Co. TN.) I do not know the date of their marriage, but their children were James Franklin Pickett b. 1900, Charlcie Pickett b. ABT 1907, Grace P. and William `Will' Pickett. I have some vital records info on the way so hopefully I will know more soon. Does anyone have any info on RUNAWAY BRIDGE who lived in OK during the time the Dawes Roll (ABT 1898-1909) was taken? A William (b. c 1776 NC) & Mary (b. c1780 NC/SC) were living with them during the 1850 Campbell Co. Census and Mary was still with them in the 1860 Campbell Co. Census.
