    3. Dawnee, I think you just may have discovered one of the possible upsetting things about DNA and genealogical research being combined. You can find out of wedlock and illegitimate births. One question I would ask is did this birth come from a premarital relationship or an adulterous relationship. Not that it makes any real difference. It seems clear to me that this is not a Bridges child but a Fisk one biologically. Now for the truly important question: How is this knowledge to be handled genealogically? As a genealogist, do you trace the biological ancestry (Fisk) or the cultural, adoptive ancestry (Bridges)? Or maybe you trace both? 3. Hi Leslie: I thought so, but our DNA's don't match. My Bridges DNA DOES match the DNA of the Sisk family of Hopkins,KY -- and they lived next to the mother of my James S. Bridges. 3. Thank you Julia. Does any of those counties list wives or children? At that time William was supposed to be married? to Nancy Callahand(Kellehand). I cannot find her death date. In 1850 Mont. co. GA he is listed with Mariah and I haven't been able to find any information on him during that 10 years. Nor on Nancy Callahand. There is a Mariah McLendon listed in 1850 in Laurens Co. with Needham McLendon who is 23 years old. But a Mirah is listed with William Bridges in 1850 in the Mont. Co. census. Can you help me with my confusion? Wow, so many William Bridges. Thanks for all your help. This list is wonderful.
