I am seeking information about the mother of my late father-in-law, possibly named Bertha Lee Bridges and from the Cleveland County area of North Carolina. I have various bits of information about two possible wives listed for Thomas Logan Ellis b. July 9,1866 d. Dec.14,1949. One wife is listed as Sarah Wilson and another as Bertha Lee Bridges. However one of the children from the first marriage lists his mother in his obituary as Sarah Wilson Bridges Ellis. I am wondering if these two women were sisters? Is there anyone who has information about a Bridges family in the Cleveland area who had daughters listed as Sarah possibly born Dec. 11, 1863 and a Bertha or Bertha Lee born about 1886? Hello, I am looking for others that are tracing a line of Bridges with the following information. I don't have a year, but it would have been the 1800's is my guess. Wm. H. Bridges married Deliah (Delilah) Nelson in Rowan County, N.C. One of their children was Andrew E. Bridges (shows up as Bridgers in one census). Sincerely, Donna Patterson [email protected] http://patterson.family.homepag e.com
Dear Theresa, Now my husband's Bridges line has no connection to AL, GA, or SC that I know of (they are VA>KY>IN>IL>MO). However, you found a Holman Bridges in Pickens Co., AL--and we have a James Holman Bridges b. May 15, 1872 (probably born in IL), married Lillie Maude Thomas in Cooper Co., MO. Probably a coincidence, but I wondered where his parents got the name. His father was Joseph Holmes Bridges and I don't know where the Holmes came from, either. Margie Bridges

One son, Silas, born abt 1817 in SC married Nancy Unknown born in GA 1818. Their children are: Mary (1845), John (1847) and Robert (1850). I cannot find Silas after the 1870 Pickens Co census. What were the names of the sons in the Civil War? I am trying to locate siblings of Ellison W. Bridges, married to Elizabeth Self. His brother was married to Elizabeth's sister. They were from the Wills Point, Tx area. Any help appreciated. Judy
I have a Thomas Henry Bridges b in Lawrence Co. MO in 1844 father Guilford Bridges, mother unknown. Guilford was married to Luranda or Luraina but had not been married more than a year to her in the 1850 Census. Guilford left MO at the time of the Civil War. It is believed that they left during the turmoil that took place in MO at that time. Guilford never went back but sold his land by proxy from Paris TX. He had 3 sons to serve in the Civil War. They settled in Llano and then Thomas moved to Bell Co, just south of Salado, Prairie Dell. Don't know if this is any connection or not. But thought I would give you this information for what it is worht. Nelda D. Crews http://www.mistycal.com/prairiedelltexas/default.htm This website has a brief Prairie Dell, TX history!
