    2. Hello fellow searchers Allen Jones Bridges census records show l0 children and as my memory recalls, I think this was in Oglethorpe Co. But by the time he got to Greene Co. Ill, I only know of the two or possible three. For sure, Flemmon b. l8ll Ga, William Croford b. l8l5 Ga then Willis b. ? (later). They were all in Smith and Wilson Co. Tenn at the same time too. Someone said we should be searching the JONES and or ALLEN lines in NC. I didn't get very far with that. I do have in another line, one James Jones in Jamestown, Vir back in the l600's and I have tried in vain to tie him in with Allen Jones Bridges. Keep me up to date, please. I did not know about Calvin Jones Bridges, Wes. Now I can add him to growing files. Thanks Wanda

    3. Jeanne, can't say for sure about Temperance, but I have been curious as to a connection with Moses Bridges, living next door in Madison Co., 1850. Interesting that in 1860 Madison Co., Moses' ex?wife and kids are listed as free mulatto? (of course you probably posted all this stuff ) Anyway, more to ponder. Like Anne says, theres to many "Jones" out there to be a coincidence. 3. Anne, I think Calvin J.'s father is Isaac Bridges (is that right, Wes?). Isaac is the one who hung around the Moses Bridges in Oglethorpe & Madison. I'm just noticing that a lot of those Bridges girls who married early in Oglethorpe and who didn't fit in with the James/Nathaniel/Thomas/David gang, seem to "belong" to Isaac (their husbands all live on the same census page as Isaac & Moses). Could Isaac and all those girls be children of an "unknown" Bridges guy? Who could it be?? Does Allen Jones Bridges (b.1756) have any kids that are unaccounted for? (1) They were all in Oglethorpe Co.,GA at one point & time -- or at least the area of Madison Co. that was once Oglethorpe. (2) They all have JONES as a middle name: Allen JONES Bridges Calvin JONES Bridges Wiley JONES Bridges Is this mere coincidence or is there a JONES connection somewhere that we are just missing...... I wonder if any of you Bridges folks might have an idea on why there would be such a common name as a middle name for our guys... Wiley's father was Nathaniel Bridges (d. 1809) We don't know Allen's father (he was born c. 1755 or so) , and Wes, what were Calvin's dates again? And do you know his father? Illinois..in fact my Caudle line must have married into about every family that was in Wayne Co., Illinois in 1850 ...at least it seems like it to me...
