Hi: I have no idea. I got the initials off of the tax records and the marriage records. Both of them seem to disappear during the civil war years; John R.'s son, William H. Bridges is living with his grandfather, Chasteen/Justinian Hood, by 1870, with no sign of his Bridges parents/grandparents. John R. and his wife, Mary Jane Hood Bridges, were living with John's parents - John H. and Lucretia Bridges - in the Livingston County census of 1860. By 1870, William H. was in Crittenden County with Grandpa Hood. No John Bridges-Lucy Bridges/ John Bridges/Mary Bridges appear in the census after that. No clues in vital records, either. Pat, Thomas's older brother was born in Iowa and was married to a women born in Clark County, Missouri in 1875. So, I am only guessing that Thomas was in Missouri by then also. I don't have facts at this point. I am wondering if your Joseph could be a son of Walter Bridges, who died in Christian County, KY in 1806. He had at least three sons that we know of: John, William, and Abney. His wife was Mary Scott, daughter of John Scott. He seems to have descendants near the KY/TN border, then on into TN. Abney actually ended up in Mississippi. Cornelia G. and Cordelia G. Bridges were born in somewhere in North Texas on January 31, 1894 . The only information that I have on where, is a family story about them being born in a house that was flooded on the banks of the Brazos River. They both died in Brownwood, Texas. Cordelia married into the Norman family sometime before 1916 when her first son was born. Cornelia G. Bridges married into the Simmons family. I think she had one son Whom is living in California. Just throwing in my two-cents worth as I think it would be very helpful to everyone on the list if the subject lines were more informative such as including a name, location, and dates. It is not only helpful when looking over a list of dozens of incoming email messages but also when going back through the archived messages in the Threaded Rootsweb Files. It seems many of us (including myself) have a tendency to hit the Reply without clarifying the Subject Line. If you look at the archived listings of hundreds of messages, I think you will see what I mean. It should be easier to search for family leads based on the subject line info displayed on the lists without having to open and read every message. Dennis Kemper
