    2. ~~Leslie~~
    3. Keith- At this time, I have fairly solid reason to believe that my John's father was named Edwin BRIDGES (d bef 2 Feb 1783). I have seen a copy of Edwin's will thanks to a researcher who is related to me though John's mother, Mary DICKINSON. Now just to be confusing, Edwin's father was also named John (d 1764 in Northampton Co, NC). So, my direct line look something like this: John BRIDGERS (m/Faith RUFFIN) Edwin BRIDGES (m/Mary DICKINSON) John BRIDGES (m/?) Wm Clayton BRIDGES [Sr] (m/Amanda MANTLO) Wm Clayton BRIDGES (m/Mary FORT) *John Thompson BRIDGES (m/Gillie McMURRY) *Gillie and John BRIDGES were my Ggrandparents. Leslie (Bridges) Kohler P.O. I am trying to connect to my ancestors and a very likely distant cousin of mine said that she thought we were descended from a William Bridges of NC. She is descended from a John Bridges of GA. A William Bridges of NC showed-up in some brief records, but not enough to make a good connection to John. John Bridges had several sons; the son I would have descended from was named William. 1. [BRIDGES-L] Lee Cherles/Sherles married to a Bridges
    2. I am looking for anyone who has a "Sherles/Cherles marriage to a Bridges. First name Lee. She was married to a Tom Bridges in Kennett MO about 1906. Also, does anyone have ANY Bridges in TN with a first name George born about 1820 with a son named Tom 1842 ? I am at the end of my rope with this guy in TN, and can only find 1 in Campbell county TN, and he is not mine. My Bridges reseach may be at its end, as I have even checked surounding states for these 2, and they have fallen off of the edge of the earth. Any suggestions sure are welcome. None of my census information is working out at all with any clues. [email protected]

    1. [BRIDGES-L] Misspelling of Names
    2. ~~Leslie~~
    3. Happy Sunday morning, Bridges researchers. I have recently begun to watch the BRIGGS list as a 'just in case'. Although I have traced Daddy's family to NC in the late 1700's, his surname was spelled incorrectly as BRIGGES in 1921! He did not even know about this error until he enlisted in the Army Air Corps during WWII. We have previously discussed the often-occurring misspelling of the surname, but I find it interesting that it happened as late as 1921 to educated people. 1. [BRIDGES-L] Where is Noontootla Cemt. in Fannin Co. GA?
    2. keith d bailey
    3. I was told that some of the Bridges from my branch of the family might be buried at the Noontootla Cemetery. I know the Noontootla area fairly well, but I have never heard of a Noontootla Cemetery. Does anyone know if it is the same cemetery as either the Stock Hill Cemetery or the Hickory Flats Cemetery? If it is a different one, does anyone know the directions? My Gr-Gr-Gr-Grandmother Sarah Bridges Long and her husband William Long are buried at Stock Hill. Sarah's brother Thomas is buried at Sugar Hill Cemetery just out of Dial, GA. I have never seen there parents graves at either cemetery. Please give directions from the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church on Doublehead Gap Rd. Keith Bailey at [email protected] 2272 Slate Mine Rd Fairmount,Ga. 30139 1(706)337-4668 Thanks, Keith
