He was born in 1891 or 1893 in Grodowice, Austria and as I understand, came from Staryi Sambir, Lviv, Ukraine. My father, John, was born in PA in 1918, yet I cannot find any census reports for the family in 1920 or 1930. Nor can I find any immigration records. I have tried using advanced search features and used various possible spellings, but cannot get anywhere, except to find records on people I know to be his cousins. I was thinking of taking a road trip to the county in PA where my father was born to see if I could conjure up a marriage record; although, I am not certain he was married there. Should I try searching overseas records? Any hints or suggestions on getting to information would be greatly appreciated.
