Using Scotlands People... Mark McVay married Agnes Kelly at Rutherglen, Lanarkshire 13th Jan 1864(GRO 654/00 0018). Agnes was only 17, and he was 20. Cornelius Kelly married Catherine McGarry. This is an OPR look-up. Cornelius Kelly married Catherine McGarry on 24th April 1853. ...Their was a wedding ceremony in the Catholic church, dated 30th Apr 1853. This was at St Johns, Barrhead. You can get this on Scotlands People too, although I didn't open it up. I discovered a Cornelius Kelly died in 1868 aged 45 at Auckinleck, Ayrshire. (GRO 577/00 0008) and on the cert, it says he was married to Catherine McGarry, so this is good verification of the above. There is a death for an Agnes Kelly in 1855 at Dundonald in Ayrshire but it is a substitute of the original that Scotlands People shows you and not a very good one either. (590 1855) Will you see if you can find it anyway? Something bothers me though... If this is her true death in 1855, then how could Cornelius have married Catherine McGarry in 1853. Everything seems to fit in except for this! Can you figure it out? Or have I got mixed up somewhere? It's late. Let me know what you think sometime. Brian, Glasgow. P.S.
