Do you have a copy of the actual marriage record you found indexed? That would give you more clues to his origin, his parents, as well as the brides. The info on a marriage record was given by the principles. All document transcriptions can have error, collecting as many documents as you can find helps to sort out the story, especially when searching uber common surnames.
