Do you have a copy of Eleanor Markwitz's death certificate? Chances are an obit was in a Brooklyn (Kings) weekly newspaper. Having the address of where she was last living in Brooklyn helps to sort out which paper to look in. Her last address should be on her death certificate. Also, contacting the funeral home (another thing you can find on the death cert) is another source for an obit. Finding the 2nd marriage without a more narrow time frame is going to difficult. Also, this is fairly recent history, so unless you're directly connected, you may have a difficult time obtaining the record. This might be accomplished by searching the Brooklyn City Directories (phone books). If you're in the greater NYC area, the libraries have these. You might also want to check the area's religious institutions the family was associated with, again this is something you may find a clue to on the death certificate.
