His name was William Robert Stephens b1870-1943. He married Clarissa Caroline Hood and they live in Short Creek AL where he had the general store. They had 3 children: Leola, Bessie Savannah(my Grandmother) and Jerry. William was also a justice of the peace and married many people in the area.I have been unable to find out anything regarding his parents. My mother has told me that the story was that his mother, whom we think was named Eliza, died in childbirth and his father took him to Georgia (Savannah area) to be raised by her mother.
