My grandfather Anthony Wayne McFarland was born 11 Jul 1881in Yoncalla, Oregon his mother was Elvira Huff who married Joseph Mericle in Iowa about 1865. They separated or divorced and she started using the name McFarland and had more children including my grandfather. I can find no record of a divorce or marriage in Iowa where she married Mericle or in Oregon where she lived and died. No birth records in Oregon for her children and no marriage license that I can find. One tree has him as James Drayton McFarland dying in 1927 but she claims to be a widow in 1900 on the census plus James had a wife in San Francisco.Any suggestions as to where I go from here? Thanks.
