I still can't find any of the arrival passenger lists online, that match the information on the paper work.... Philip Shapiro- 6109 Wentworth Avenue, Chicago, IL Hotel Keeper Born: 8 Jan 1875 at Dorugen II, Russia (No clue where that is, I can't find any info on it) Emigrated: from Bremen, German in July 1897 on the Vessel Baltimore; Petition says 13th, Intent says 25th to the Port of New York Declare Date: 7 Aug 1903 at Minneapolis, MN Wife's Name: Catherine-NO Children, born in Chicago, IL(which we know his wife Bessie was from Russia as well...) Nicholas II Emperor of all the Russias 10th: 25 July 1897 State of IL for at least 1 yr preceding 27 July 1897 Signed 11 Feb 1910 by Philip Shapiro Witnesses: Harry Northway Mining Inspector - 6109 Went Worth Ave, Chicago, IL B. Pomaranty Shoe Business at 17 West 47th St, Chicago, IL-both personally knew Philip Shapiro 6 yrs continuously immediately preceding date of filing and living there for 6 yrs. Oath of Allegiance: Signed 17 May 1910 - Nicholas II Emperor of All the Russias Cert of Nat. # 145267 issued on 17 May AD 1910 Declaration of Intent signed under Czar of Russia by Philip Shapiro on 7 Aug 1903.... Any clues of what to do now, I searched everywhere for Dorugen II, Russia. Can't find anything on Catherine Shapiro. We knew his wife as Bessie Shapiro and her and her daughter Lizzie Shapiro came to the US in 1904. So, since Lizzie isn't listed on these papers, she wasn't a citizen under Philip's Petition... I also went down to the Family History Research Center at the Church of Ladder Day Saints in Tucson, AZ where I live....and they couldn't help me there... So, I'm still hitting a wall with this research, as of right now. Any help would be great! Thank you, Erica Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
