My Aunt Toni Miller/Donnell and I have been working on my Family Tree for years. So far this is what we found, in addition to the US Census' all 1910-1940 I have everyone's address/locations for almost all the Census. Everyone is Jewish. I have searched JewGen.org, NY Sites, Nassau/Suffolk/Kings/Cook Counties, can't find too much, other than what is attached to their names. I searched all the manifests to find Philip Shapiro, I can't find his name for the Date/location-I did check Ellis Island/Castel Garden/PA/Boston/Canada-Nothing. ____________________________________________________________ Philip Shapiro: WWI Draft: Can't find YET. POmarantz 17 W 47th St. Chicago, IL I'm not sure how to find the Declaration of Intent or the Original Documents, I can't find it online, but I found this and this is a match. Philip Owned a Hotel On Wentworth Avenue, Chicago, IL- he was indicted for running Speakeasy's/Prostitution Rings with Minors, and got off on a plea bargain. From what we have been told, both Philip and his Son, Jacob/Jack J. ran with the Jewish/Italian Mafia in Chicago. Jack would never speak of it to his wife or daughters, or the rest of the family, again. __________________________________________________________________ I know you attached the 1925 census you found. This would be a huge surprise that Bessie Shapiro was remarried. No one ever mentioned it, nor are there photographs of her a Husband at all. We do not have any documents, other than what we found online for Bessie and Philip Shapiro. In a way this would make sense on the name change to Miller. But, the Birthdates for everyone don't match their actual Birthdates, but I know Janice/Clara/Claire and Jacob/Jack J. had celebrated their birthday's on Sept. 9, so it was easier for them, per Clare's Daughter, Phyllis. The 1910 Census had everyone living in Chicago, The 1920 Census, everyone Moved to the Bronx, 1930 Census states that Bessie Miller is a Widow. I have all of Jacobs/Jack J. Shapiro/Miller's Chauffeur Licenses from 1927, and he always lived with Bessie until he got Married in the 1940's. No match to the street that is on the 1925 Census, but it still could be a possibility. Benjamin Shapiro/Miller was married by 1925 and lived upstate, NY. That is all we have so far. I know Toni and I are missing pieces....we are just trying to figure this all out. Thank you so much for your help again!
