    1. [BRICK-WALLS] John and Eliza CUSHING Troy, Rensselaer County NY
    2. Pat Seger
    3. The brick wall is birth places of my gr-gr-grandparents. I don’t know if they married in Ireland or USA so I am trying to find some record of their deaths to maybe get other clues John Cushing (b ca 1812) Ireland (probably County Limerick) Elizabeth (Kelly) Cushing (b ca 1820) Ireland (parents William Kelly and Elizabeth Russell) I have them in the census in Troy, Rensselaer County, New York from 1840 – 1860 for sure as Cushing or Cushion. Maybe John in city directory in1867 as Cushan then they disappear. The children (Maria, Ellen/Nellie, William, John and Elizabeth/Eliza) would have been between 9 and 22 years old in 1867. Searching on Ancestry I can’t find any of them in the 1870 census but using city directories I do have the children at different locations in Troy from 1868 onward all on Third street in Troy. Daughter Maria “Cushan” in city directory from1868 – 1870 @ 212 N Third Then the city directory I found sons WILLIAM CUSHING 1872 & 1873 (214 N third Street) 1874 & 1875 Corner N 3rd and Rensselaer 1877 & 1878 – 220 North Third Other son, JOHN E CUSHING listed @ 17 N third street corner Rensselaer in 1875 to 1878. Then in 1880 I have William Cushing (age 27) living as head of household with siblings John E, (age 22), Ellen (Nellie) (age 29) and Eliza (age 21) at 282 North Third Street District 144 Maria (d 1927), Ellen/Nellie (d 1928) and Elizabeth (d 1946) were all buried in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Troy but so far I have found no record of their parents burial there. Ideas? Suggestions??
