    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: LHSwisher Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/106.3.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Re the 1910 census, is it possible a language barrier got in the way of the enumerator? Instead of Sarno, he hears Salmon. Instead of Arico, he guesses Riggio, and goofs the order up besides. ----- In the 1910 Chicago city directory, both John Albano and Henry Sarno are listed as living at 945 W. Polk. http://www.chicagoancestors.org/downloads/1910a.pdf http://www.chicagoancestors.org/downloads/1910sa-sc.pdf ----- In the 1923 directory, Florence is listed alone: Sarno Florence A. Mrs. 825 S. Laflin She is not listed as a widow, as others on the page are. Whether Arico is simply unlisted (perhaps he was boarding elsewhere), or moved, is unknown. http://www.chicagoancestors.org/downloads/1923sa-sd.pdf ---- The 1936-1937 Cincinnati directory lists Harry Sarno as a parking lot operator, as that WW2 record showed: http://search.ancestry.com/Browse/view.aspx?dbid=1540&path=Ohio.Cincinnati.1936-1937.Williams' Cincinnati Directory.743&sid=&gskw=&cr=1 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
