    1. [BRICK-WALLS] Help me get past a huge dead end?
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: merandafairchild Surnames: Fairchild Hawley Davis Kimmy Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/173/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My g.g. Grandfather Morris/Maurice E. Fairchild was born in 1877 in Michigan. He was married in 1901 and died in 1924. This is about all I know about him. It is rumored in my family that his mother was a native American chief's daughter, but in the two census I've found on him, Morris is listed as white. I would love to learn more about Morris, as he is as far back as I can trace my last name, and any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Here are some more facts to help you out. -Born 1877 in Michigan. Both his parents are listed as born in PA in the 1920 census, and in the USA in the 1910 census. -Morris married Myrtle Hawley in 1901. Myrtle is the daughter of George and Mary Ellen Kimmy. She was born in Pa (in 1882), as were her parents. -Morris appears in the 1910 census in Columbus, Warren, PA, and the 1920 Census in Le Boeuf, Erie, PA. -He had 5 children: Louis/Lewis/Louie George (my g. grandfather), Leon M., Clarence H., Cecil R., and Arlene M. -In the 1910 census Morris had a hired man named Merl Davis. -Morris died in 1924 and is burried in Mill Village Cemetery in Le Boeuf, Erie, PA. Once again, thanks ahead of time for any help. Meranda Fairchild Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
