    1. [BRICK-WALLS] a letter to all researchers, family historians etc
    2. Mary
    3. And anyone else out there doing the family tree. I closed down all my trees on rootsweb. I no longer want to share with the people who have the mentality that they 'own' their relatives. Or ancestors for that matter. This includes helping others who are searching. My ancestors would come back and hit me upside the head if I maintained I 'owned' them. And yes, this is the third or fourth time someone has chewed me out and maintained I was 'stealing' their relatives and it was unethical. Where do we get off 'owning' our ancestors? or our family for that matter. If you don't wish your family information out there DO NOT HAVE OBITUARIES IN THE NEWSPAPER when one dies. Once the information is out in the public domain its out of your hands.

    3. I am going to maintain my tribalpages accounts and if you aren't a member just ask and I will let you in. I do like helping others but I am getting tired of the type of people who go through rootsweb nitpicking at every little thing and acting like they 'own' people. If someone is in my tree also its because, imagine this, they are related to me through some connection. Otherwise they would not be included. --- On Mon, 10/4/10, ALICE JONES <[email protected]> wrote: From: ALICE JONES <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [BRICK-WALLS] a letter to all researchers, family historians etc To: [email protected] Date: Monday, October 4, 2010, 3:58 PM Mary, I felt you helped me a lot and really appreciated it.   Sorry you are having to close down Alice On Mon, Oct 4, 2010 at 9:41 AM, Mary <[email protected]> wrote: > And anyone else out there doing the family tree.
