McConnell, George H. McConnell, and Arthur McConnell. A nephew James McConnell was with them. After the civil war in the 1870s they moved to Coffeyville, Montgomery County, Kansas. Edward E was my great grandfather. In the late 1800s, about 1890 Edward and his wife Emma (Barrett) McConnell moved to Washington State. Arthur died in Coffeyville in 1905, and is buried with his wife Eugenia at Coffeyville, Kansas. My father told me the rest of the McConnell family may have returned to Ireland but I have never been able to track that possibility. I am also at a Brick Wall. Author: LHSwisher Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/413.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Your query doesn't clearly state what you know, where you found what you know, and what you want to know. Based on the 1910 census, George is 23, which puts his birth at 1887, not 1897. The 1900 census states that Robert and Jennie have been married for 10 years (which corresponds with the age of daughter Corra, b. April 1890). So it appears as though Berton/Bertram/Burtrum died between 1887-1890. What is Jennie May's maiden name? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. His son was born in Baltimore MD and marrige application fathers name is listed as Berton E. Wilhelm with a mother May. If son was born abt 1897 and mother remarried in 1900 I have a window for his death, but cannot find any connection to a May or Jennie May Wilhelm and not many Berton's although we thought name was Burtrum or Bertrum. I have check many avenues for name variations. Any other ideas? Most of family is from PA (New Freedom or Philadelphia) and Baltimore area. Sons name was George C Wilhelm and his mother was a May, but in 1900 listed as Jennie May who married Robert Bowser. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My GG grandparents John CUSHING (b ca 1812) married Eliza KELLY (b ca 1820) John and Eliza married in Bruree, County Limerick 1842 I believe her parents were William Kelly and Elizabeth Russell. No hint of his family in Ireland (but that is another brick wall) John's declaration of intention filed November 1844 - I haven't found his Naturalization They are in the census through1860 (misspelled as Cushion that year) then they disappear. Cannot locate them in the 1865 NY State census. Maybe John is in city directory in1867 as Cushan then they disappear. Can't find any death records for either one The children (Maria, Ellen/Nellie, William, John and Elizabeth/Eliza) would have been between 9 and 22 years old in 1867. Oldest daughter Maria "Cushan" is in city directory in1868 but I don't see any of the others; other kids might have been too young to list in the directory. Can't find them in the 1870 census. Children are again in the Census in 1875 with oldest daughter Maria as head of household. First daughter Maria was baptized at St Marys Catholic Church in 1845. One baptized at St. Peters. As adults, three of the children were buried in St Peters - Maria (d1927) Ellen/Nellie (d 1928) and Elizabeth (d. 1946) but no record of the parents there that I can find. Any suggestions on where else to look to try and determine when John & Eliza died?
