Author: outrmpt Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/430.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thank you for the reply! I have seen the first one listed as evidence of her maiden name, but haven't been able to tell why, since it is a person 30 years older than her, who married after she died. The second one seems to be a person much older than her as well. The 3rd one doesn't have an age, but in 1850, she is listed in the census living with her Tennison husband and children. Thanks again. You are right, some of these might have been used erroneously as sources. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: crankbait522 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/431/mb.ashx Message Board Post: does anyone have a suggestion of how to find/get a death certificate. Great uncle died in Marion, VA lived and was supposedly buried in Wise, VA. No on can seem to come up with a death certificate. I tried to order it from Vital records but can't find any matching info. The hospital in which he died has no record of a death certificate and the cause of death is not listed. He died in 1941 so there should be some way of finding it. I guess I haven't been doing this long enough to figure it out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Author: outrmpt Surnames: Tennison, LaBeff, Beff, Estep, Eastep Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/430/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for the parents of Rachel, who married Allen Tennison in Newton County, Arkansas around 1848. Allen Tennison, born about 1824 in Indiana, was married to Rachel, born about 1826. I am not sure of her maiden name. On numerous family trees I have seen it listed as Estep, Eastep, Beff, and Labeff. Her place of birth is listed as Alabama, Arkansas, or Missouri. I am curious to find a source for any of these names. I have only seen the names listed on family trees, but none have listed a source besides other trees. Allen and Rachel lived in Newton County, Arkansas, and died between 1860-1870. A few have noted that Allen and Rachel were killed by Bushwackers during the Civil War, and are buried under "Horace Newton's Barn" in Newton County, but I have not found any source for that information. I know a lot about Allen Tennison's family, but have not been able to figure out a source for Rachel's maiden name, or who her parents might have been. Thanks! I'm trying to find documentation, too. It must be there somewhere! Also, there are I think, two Jonathan Hunts that keep popping up. One that is Hiel's father, the other that became Lt. Governor. This is about 1806, I was trying to find the actual recording of Hiel's marriage in 1806 but ran across this spelling of his name. Might there be a variation on William's name, too? I feel that Morzonich is a transcription error. The V is hard to make out. I tried searching on the neighbors of this family in the 1920 census, but was unable to find them. Good luck in your search. Author: jenofthe80s Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/427/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am having a very difficult time finding any data on my grandfather, Joseph Morozowich. He was born in 1891 or 1893 in Grodowice, Austria and as I understand, came from Staryi Sambir, Lviv, Ukraine. My father, John, was born in PA in 1918, yet I cannot find any census reports for the family in 1920 or 1930. Nor can I find any immigration records. I have tried using advanced search features and used various possible spellings, but cannot get anywhere, except to find records on people I know to be his cousins. I was thinking of taking a road trip to the county in PA where my father was born to see if I could conjure up a marriage record; although, I am not certain he was married there. Should I try searching overseas records? Any hints or suggestions on getting to information would be greatly appreciated. My William married Abagail McNutt in 1830 in Huron Co, Ohio. He is listed in the 1840 and 1850 census in Margaretta township, which your Hunt family also lived. William and his family moved west after that. I don't know if he kept in touch with his family after moving. Most of the census say William was born ca. 1805 in Vermont. Too bad the census doesn't give which county he was born. With all that said, my thoughts are they have to be related, but how can we know for sure.
