Author: renegadewoman Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/450.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thank you, I have some of that but not all. Glad to have the extra information. I was also wondering (as you put it being hard to believe) about all the children that was said to be credited to him and wondering if Connor was one of them or not. It is hard to know for sure but that is the same info I have for Connor so I am thinking he is a legitimate child of William Bean 11. I appreciate your reply and your help. I am searching for a copy of Connors will which was probated in 1859 in Franklin County Tn. He died in 1858 and there is supposedly information in his will that will give me more info on my great grandmother. I am trying to find who her blood father is since all info on Ancestry and the family trees who are decended from her have the wrong info. Only because we as a whole cannot find the true info as of yet. Her name is Rebecca/Rebekka A. "Granny" Tipps Hise. Her mother is Barbara Awalt married to John Tipps who died in 1815. Rebecca was not born until 1826 so he could not be her father. Maybe Barbara is not her mother we are not even sure about that . I cannot find a birth record or death record for Rebecca which I have been searching for at least two years now. I am a member of ancestry with access to the records but there only a few (1830 census and her marriage to John E "Pink" Hise)records for her before she married and none after! his death in 1885. So any and all info I can find thru others like yourself is greatly appreciated. She is listed as the only "non_ family member" to recieve a bequest in Connors C Beans Will. I don't think they realized at the time that Connor had married a member of Barbara Awalts family which would make Rebecca actually releated to Connor if by nothing else ....marriage.Thanks again for your information I loved reading all that info !!! Author: williamfcraigjr Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/450.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: !BIOGRAPHY: William Bean II was born in North Ireland on 8 February 1754. In 1767, when he was 13 years old, he accompanied his parents to America aboard the Admiral Hawk. He grew up on Duncans Creek in South Carolina. Possiblly, he first married Celia Wyatt, who may have died after bearing one child (Peter). William Bean II then married Ann Scott. Ann was born in 1760 in Scotland (possibly at Larne), the daughter of William and Mary Scott. She came to America in 1769. Willliam Bean II had a large family (possibly as many as 23 children) of which twelve or thirteen can be sure (Peter, William III, Thomas, Walter, Jonathan, John Jacob, Jenny Mary, Ransom (Randall) Naomi, James, Connor(?), and Martha. The family allegedly moved (date unknown) to what was then Burke County, North Carolina. Some data suggest that William Bean II served as a priviate in the militia during the Revolutionary war. Allegedly, he saw action at Charleston, South Carolina. the family moved back to Laure! ns County, South Carolina. They were there at the time of the death of William Bean I, where William II was a beneficiary in his fathers estate. On 16 May 1793, William II and his wife Ann sold 150 acres of land that had originally been part of the grant given to Willliam Bean I in 1768 by Governor Bull. On 1 March 1794 they sold 100 acres located on the South Fork of Duncan Creek, part of the 250 acre original grant to William Bean I. William II and Ann moved to Edgefield County, South Carolina, and in 1796 bought 217 acres in Newbery County, South Carolina. They sold the land on 25 September 1799, and on 18 July 1801, Ann relinquished Dower rights on the property. Ann's father William Scott also lived and died in Newberry County. Evidently, William II and Ann moved to Kentucky about 1801 and settled on a place near Elkton, then in Christian County.
