None of the other census records are public yet. If you are only looking online then you might not find much on them. Most online genealogy databases contain older records. You should choose a specific record that you want to find, or a specific question you want to answer -- and then research where those records are and how to get them. Some may be online, but most will NOT be. If you post a specific question/goal, I'm sure that other members will try to help! :) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. She did have family in Hungary, but without her maiden name ?? And the only family here was my mom (deceased) and my uncle (deceased). All of her friends have since passed away also. I do believe she might have been Jewish. There was no set church, she never talked about her faith and my mom's babtism/confimation/marriage were all done in different protestant faiths. I know that isn't much, but it has always been a gut feeling. But I hadn't found anything about my grandfather in Philadelphia. Will check there. You have been a great help - so here I go.. by the way, love this. I am so addicted I cannot help myself. Found my father's family all the way back to before 1600's... this is a wonderful history lesson in the making. Thanks again. A marriage record exists for Mike and Julia Sipos, you just haven't found it yet. Where was she from orignally? Hungary? Do you know if she came with any family or on her own? I see Mike was living in Philadelphia in 1917, where was he living in 1920? Have you found him in the 1920 census? That location is the first you check. If you don't find it in PA, then try New York City. There must be some story, like she was married right off the boat, or something to that effect. This is fairly recent history, someone living might recall bits they've heard. Where was the first child born? Baptized by what faith? Her 1st marriage was around 1921 and the married name was Sipos - Michael "Mihaly" Sipos. He was born 1898 in Hungary, arrived in US in 1911. He died about 1941. She was born in 1902, arrived in US 1920/21. Her 2nd and 3rd marriages only list the Sipos name. There is no record of her first marriage license. She arrived through New York, lived in Easton, Pennsylvania. Had two children, Elsie Frances born 1923 and George Michael Sipos born 1924. She was also married to Andrew Niko who also passed away, sometime in the 50's. She then married Frank Takacs in 1965 in Dade County, Florida. Any help finding the maiden name would be a great help. I had guessed Enrico was his way Americanizing Arico but the Harry never seemed to make sense. No idea why Salmon but your explanation is as good as any I have up to this point. Once Florence divorced Harry (haven't found that record yet), he no longer has a relationship with his children until many years later (mid 1940's) he meets his grandchildren but only the one time. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: smizevitz Surnames: Sarno, Albano, Reggio, D'Alexander Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/106.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello and thank you for attempting to help me sort this out! The way I am told by my Mother (Florence), Grandaughter to Harry AKA Enrico is that her grandmother Florence (Raphaela) Albano was 10 years old when she gave birth to son Carmen in 1904. They had always been told that Harry was 20 years her elder. The marriage certificate (#374635) states Arice SARNO aged 23 and Flora ALBANO aged 18, September 28, 1903. The marriage was performed by a justice of the peace. I also found birth certificates for three children. Carmen was born on August 18, 1904, and Flora was 14 at the time. Nunciata was born on August 21, 1905, and Flora was 15. John was born November 20, 1907, and Flora was 16. Now this is another area that has conflicting dates and ages. The 1920 census shows Florence SARNO as 26 yo, Head of house and although son Carmens age is illegible, daughter Alice is 14 and 3 mos. (Alice is 1 year younger than Carmen). Florence is also listed as a widow and she has two more children, Frank and Genevieve. Florence's Mother Carmella ALBANO is now listed as alive and a widow. This is conflicting with the 1910 census when Giovanni lists himself as a widow. Also 3 boarders, the first named Vito D'Alexander who will later be Florence's 2nd husband and they will have 3 children. In the meantime, Harry is still alive in ohio according to the 1918 WW1 draft card he is still married to Florence, he is a Night watchman for the Bullock mfg. co. and again in 1925 he is still claiming Florence is his wife (on the document you found me) when he attempted to enter Canada. The 2 remaining boarders are Ralph MUSORINO and Josef MARASCO. 1930 census Florence has remarried, 4 children are in the house and miraclulously Florences father is back with her mother. The birth certificate of Carmen has the address as 291 Polk st. Chicago, father Arico is a laborer. Polk street is the address on the 28 Apr 1910 census. At some point, Florence sends the eldest 3 children to St. Mary's training school (now called Maryville academy). I have been in touch with them and am putting together the requested documents to be notorized for release. I know Carmen was married by 1928/29. Daughter Alice is listed as Nunciata or Ununciata on her birth cert. with address 291 W. Polk, father Arico SARNO. November of 1907, third child John is born, address is now 322 W taylor st. Chicago. father's occupation; Baker. 12 feb 1911 fourth child Frangisco (Frank) SARNO is born. Mother; Raffaela SARNO/ALBANO. Father; Enrico SARNO 8530 Morgan, Chicago. Below are the links to census and WW1 cards. They too have conflicting information. I can confirm the WW1 card by wifes name Florence but the birthdate is off one month from the 1942 WW2 draft card that has Enrico with wife Sallie living apx. 1.5 miles away from the WW1 draft card, born in Italy and unemployed. I have no other confirmation that these 2 draft cards are one and the same person. According to death records, this same Harry married to Sally, works for or owns a car parking garage and they are both buried at SPRING GROVE cemetery in ohio. Have never been able to locate birth record for youngest child Genevieve who passed away in 2009. Sorry about the overwhelming amount of text and again thank you for the help. http://search.ancestry.com/iexec/?htx=View&r=an&dbid=6482&iid=OH-1819802-3671&fn=Enrico&ln=Sarno&st=r&ssrc=pt_t15570567_p371128298_g32768&pid=14587490 http://search.ancestry.com/iexec/?htx=View&r=an&dbid=6061&iid=4300481_00631&fn=Herman&ln=Sarno&st=r&ssrc=pt_t15570567_p311772023_g32768&pid=15329805 http://search.ancestry.com/iexec/?htx=View&r=an&dbid=6224&iid=ILT626_456-0443&fn=Florence H&ln=Vetto&st=r&ssrc=pt_t15570567_p311772023_g32768&pid=85456157 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
