Author: williamfcraigjr Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/144.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: the 1860-70-80 census list her birth place as new york as well as her parents birth place (1880 census).she also had a son austin (sarah hormans maiden name) and a son lehman (sarah and benjamin horman had a son lehman).this is all circumstantial of course, but lucinda also lived in the same areas as the hormans.sarah and benjamin horman also had 3 sons born in new york between 1804 and 1815 so the birth year and place (1813 new york)fits right in.have you tryed finding a copy of benjamins will?that would probably list lucy as a child if she was.before lucy married nathan willis she was married to a corning because she married nathan willis as mrs. lucy corning. At this site http://www.italiangen.org/ The births of the twins Ernest G Loring and Louisa E Loring on 7/17/1907 are indexed in Kings county NY. Also at that site a death of Ernest Loring 1/20/1928, age 62, in Manhattan NY. Seems that the Loring name was in effect at least by 1907. You could try sending for the records. Author: felicia3997 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/141.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi I have the declaration of intention dated Oct 9th 1897 and the Naturalization papers dated Oct 26 1899. The children's names are english because Giovanni and Luisa were married in in London England in 1892 and Adelaide was born in England in 1893. Nelson was born in Italy November 26th in 1898. Which adds to the confusion. Giovanni must have gone back to Italy sometime between 1894 and 1898 but I cannot find him anywhere travelling back and forth Felicia Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: chatterchit Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.researchresources.brick-20-walls/139.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I would keep an open mind. It seems very strange that the census would have that they were divorced if they weren't -- divorce was SO rare back then. They could have told the children/others that she died -- It would have been more acceptable back then. Either way, you'll have to look for records (death, probate, court, etc.) in the parishes she was in -- or that the family was in (Union parish and Caddo parish, Louisiana.) You might also have to look at the parishes in between the two, since the family traveled from Union to Caddo at least once. The parishes in between are: Bossier, Webster, and Claiborne. This free website gives an overview of how to find Louisiana records: https://wiki.familysearch.org/en/Louisiana_Vital_Records Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
