Hi everyone, I am trying to find the parents and siblings of John M. Brewster, my gggrandfather. He was born in Essex Co, New Jersey according to his death certificate around the middle of 1826 or 1827. He died in Summit, New Jersey on December 4, 1902 while living with his daughter Harriet Emiline (Brewster) Tingley and her husband; Danile Compton Tingley, my ggrandparents. John was married to Phebe Bruen RIKER on January 7, 1846 in Madison by the Rev C.S. Arms, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. They had 9 children of whom 8 survived. They were William H (b: 1846). James B. (b: 1847), Henrietta (b: 1849), Mary F. (died in infancy), Mary Elizabeth (b: September 30, 1855), Harriett Emiline (b: September 27, 1857), Josephine Ridgeway (b: February 19, 1862), John Lincoln (b: July 1867), and Eva Caroline (b: January 1869). Any information about any of these individuals and their families greatly appreciated, but especially the parents, John and Phebe. They seem to have appeared out of thin air and lived most of their lives in Chatham Township without making too many ripples in the stream of village life. Thanks for any help. Fred M.
