    1. James Brewster of Augusta County, VA and Jessamine County, KY
    2. For those of you researching this line, here is another resource. Although I do not know where a copy can be found, Louise Howe LDHowe@aol.com posted this information 10-FEB-1997: "From "The Maxwell History and Genealogy" by Florence Wilson Houston, Laura Cowan Blaine, and Ella Dunn Mallette, published in 1916. "James Brewster [sometimes Bruster, in early documents], of Augusta and Rockingham Counties, Virginia, was born in County Derry, 1720, and came to this country when eighteen years of age. He settled in the Valley of Virginia, not far from where the old stone church of Fort Defiance, today [1916?] stands, Cobb Creek being one of the boundaries of his land. He married Elinor Williamson, and had eight children, six daughters -- Margaret, Elinor, Sarah, Janet, Agnes and Mary -- and two sons, James and Henry." James Brewster eventually migrated to Jessamine County, KY; his children settled elsewhere in KY, but apparently none in Grayson Co. Janet Brewster married her cousin, Samuel Irvin; she and two of her sisters are buried in the Dunn Family Cemetery on what is now the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington.
