Hi List, I'm a brand-new subscriber and wanted to add my two Brewster connections. Sally Leach of Derby, CT (born about 1785 or so and presumably the daughter of James Leach and Phebe (maiden name unknown) of Derby, married Abel Brewster in February 1816. The marriage was reported in the Connecticut Mirror and Hartford Courant. In 1830 they were living in New London/New London and in 1840 were in New London/Waterford. They had a large family of chidren, but their names are unknown to me. Hoping someone on the list knows this family. My second connection to the Brewsters is somewhat odd. My 3great-grandmother, Nancy Leach Augustus (presumably a sister of the Sally mentioned above), died in October of 1860 in New Haven, CT and is buried in the City Burial Grounds in N.H.. Her death certificate mentions the informant as being the Rev. Joseph Brewster, a promient Episcopal clergyman of New Haven. I have no idea why he was the informant on this death cetificate, but it could be her connection to the Sally Leach Brewster mentioned above. Any small tidbit of information gratefuly received.
