    3. Thanks for the reply, my only two names are Phillips and Snodgrass. These families were both in Monongalia County by the 1840 census. The Phillips family was in Allegheny Co Md. previous to that and I am not sure where the Snodgrasses were, that's one of my big puzzles. I know they were in Hampshire Co. Va.(W)in 1825 and possibly in Jefferson Co Va.(W) before that. I have been researching for 30 years and have had very little success in finding information about either of these families.     3. Thanks. It is Allegany county in Md. Their records are mostly on family search.org. You might put a query on their board. There are still a lot of Phillips on Monongalia County.
