John Stouder Sr. & Jr. had warrants for property along the Stonycreek River in what is now Cambria County, which was near a number of German Baptists who settled in Cambria County, including Peter Morgan. This was in very close proximity to the Good properties. The Stouder's immigrated to Ohio by 1820, where David Stouder the brother of John Sr. had earlier founded the Obannon German Baptist church in 1795. *********** Do you have record of the David Stouder? - is there really such a person? The Obannon Church has the tradition of him, as founder of the Church - but we have never found record of him. We have wondered if this David Stouder might have been kin to the family of John Stouder (died in Cambira - before the children came to Clermont Co OH). We have located a Brethren minister, David Stover, in early Highland County OH, come up from Kentucky - and wonder if this might be the unknown person - but even he has little or no records of activity in the Brethren. - - and Peter Morgan was actually originally "Maugan" - eldest son of Conrad and Rebbecca Maugans - of Wolfsville, Washington Co MD. - most of his brothers and sisters came to the Obannon: [Catherine - m. Abraham Miller; Magdalina - m. David Miller; Matthias (of whom I have found no information); Mary - m. John Frey; Elizabeth - m. Frederick Weaver (Obannon Church originally met in his home at Goshen OH); Gabrial; Daniel; and David]. Only Abraham, John and Barbara (m. John Myers) remained in Washington Co MD. David moved on to Miami Co OH. Merle
