I am related to Stouffer's from Hagerstown and have followed them west. Only other known spelling of last name is Stauffer, not Stouder. Susan Longnecker married second husband Andrew Zug.... Zugs and Flora's are related. My family is related to the Flora's of Flora Indiana who migrated through the Miami Valley in the early 1800's. I also have some Stouffer's from Hagerstown and it is not unreasonable to think Stouders and Stouffer's might be related, but I have not followed any of that family west. Good luck finding closer links. Bill Thomas -----Original Message----- From: Dwayne Wrightsman Sent: Saturday, November 2, 2013 2:36 PM To: Brethren@rootsweb.com Subject: [BRE] Flory, Stouder, and Longenecker The Flory, Stouder, and Longenecker families were Mennonite neighbors who emigrated from Zweibruecken on the Ship Hope in 1733. All three families settled in Rapho Township, Lancaster County. Members of all three families were baptized Brethren by Michael Frantz in the 1730s and 1740s. Thereafter, the families multiplied and seemed to go their separate ways, but interestingly enough, some of the descendants of the three families converged in the early 1800s in the Miami Valley of Ohio, and they were still Brethren. In the 1850 census for Randolph Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, there were two Stouder orphan boys (Harrison and Isaac) living in the home of Abraham Flory (Henry, Abraham, immigrant Joseph Jr., immigrant Joseph Sr.) Does anyone know about other connections between these three families?
