    3. The Flory, Stouder, and Longenecker families were Mennonite neighbors who emigrated from Zweibruecken on the Ship Hope in 1733. All three families settled in Rapho Township, Lancaster County. Members of all three families were baptized Brethren by Michael Frantz in the 1730s and 1740s. Thereafter, the families multiplied and seemed to go their separate ways, but interestingly enough, some of the descendants of the three families converged in the early 1800s in the Miami Valley of Ohio, and they were still Brethren. In the 1850 census for Randolph Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, there were two Stouder orphan boys (Harrison and Isaac) living in the home of Abraham Flory (Henry, Abraham, immigrant Joseph Jr., immigrant Joseph Sr.) Does anyone know about other connections between these three families? 2. Not direct connections in my tree.... Susan Longnecker married second husband Andrew Zug.... Zugs and Flora's are related. My family is related to the Flora's of Flora Indiana who migrated through the Miami Valley in the early 1800's. I also have some Stouffer's from Hagerstown and it is not unreasonable to think Stouders and Stouffer's might be related, but I have not followed any of that family west. Good luck finding closer links. 3. Dwayne, I have a record of my ancestor Peter Beller selling land to David Longenecker in 1729; 1729 Peter Beller sold land near Strasburg http://ftp.rootsweb.ancestry.com/pub/usgenweb/special/longaker/l5220000.txt Peter Beller to David Longenecker, deed, dated May 29th, 1729, for 250 acres of land in Strasburg Township, PA I believe that there is a Longenecker Cemetery on the land. Do you know of any family connection between the Longeneckers & Bellers? Byron Bowman On Nov 4, 2013, at 9:12 AM, captainlaser@comcast.net wrote: > Not direct connections in my tree.... 3. There is a substantial intermarriage with the Harter family as well, but this is mostly later in Carroll County, Indiana. The Carroll County name tends to be Flora, which I assume is an alternate to Flory. I find no Harter interaction with the other two names. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dwayne Wrightsman" <dwayne55@comcast.net> To: <Brethren@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 02, 2013 1:36 PM Subject: [BRE] Flory, Stouder, and Longenecker > The Flory, Stouder, and Longenecker families were Mennonite neighbors who > emigrated from Zweibruecken on the Ship Hope in 1733.
