    3. The tombstone of the Hessian is recent (last twenty years), and the DAR registration based on the another person. Another, also recent, but no tombstone, is based on the wrong person. That would not happen with today's DAR. The DAR genealogists in Washington are very knowledgeable and sharp. As far a the Hessian soldier, if he turned and fought for the Continental Army, DAR, considers him a patriot. Their last documented act is the deciding factor. My favorite is my Hessian ancestor who has a DAR tombstone!
