Eiler Questions: Conrad Eiler (Iller) and family came over on the Ship Allen in 1729 with Alexander Mack and his party of Brethren followers. Can anyone document that Conrad Eiler was Brethren other than the fact that he was on the ship? (Incidentally, I have not seen John S. Eiler's work other than his Eiler entry in the Brethren Encyclopedia, but I would be surprised if he didn't get the idea that Conrad Eiler was Brethren from Martin Grove Brumbaugh (1899) who assumed that all Ship Allen passengers were Brethren.) There are indeed Brethren Eilers but are they descendants of Conrad Eiler? If so, what is the evidence? If not, who was the first Brethren Eiler? Dwayne Wrightsman
