    3. Bill, Thanks for the information. Your information illustrates another frustrating aspect to this situation. It would seem that the Kitzmillers were fairly substantial people, ergo they should have had estate records. Yet I have found very little in the way of estate records for them. I wonder if they did have estate records and the records were missed by the indexing system. This happened with one of my ancestors in Northumberland Co., PA. I was informed by the office of the County Clerk that they didn't have any estate records for my ancestor but that didn't seem right to me. I ordered a film from the LDS library that had county land records for the relevant period and found that he did own land that was sold after his death on the order of the Orphans' Court. This indicated to me that he must have had estate records and, when I informed the County Clerk of this, they were able to locate them. So I may have to do the same thing here, order land records for Lancaster Co., PA and see if I can find land sales after the deaths of the Kitzmillers that I am researching. 3. David, message from Emmert. I noted your efforts at researching the Kitzmiller family. At the risk of giving you information you already know and have, I will mention that the Kitzmiller family, or part of it, migrated from Lancaster County into what is now West Virginia, formerly Virginia, very early, perhaps as early as the 1790s. Many Brethren and Mennonites migrated because of the pressures and antagonisms engendered during the Rev. War, because the Anabaptists would not fight for freedom from England. The Kitzmillers became members of the Brick Church of the Brethren, then when Locust Grove and Allegheny churches became independent of Brick Church (Greenland Cong.), they belonged there. The area today is near Bismark and Mt. 'Storm W. Va. I personally know members of the Kitzmiller family there. Emmert Bittinger
