The Milford Mail, Milford, Indiana August 1, 1901, pg 5, col 1 "An Old Citizen Gone. Daniel Forney, who had reached the ripe old age of 86 years, died at his home northeast of Milford on Friday of the in infirmaties of old age. He was one of the best known citizens of this vicinity and a man whose life had been without blemish or stain. He had been a member of the German Baptist church for many years, and was honored and respected by all who knew him. He leaves a wife, one son and two daughters. The son is Elder Hiram Forney of Goshen, while the daughters are Mrs. C. B. Stiver of Goshen, and Mrs. Ella Moorehouse, who lives at the home of the deceased. The funeral was conducted on Sunday, at the Big church, located on the homestead, and the interment was in Baintertown cemetery. A large number of neighbors and friends followed the remains to their final resting place in the Silent City of the dead."
